Primary Trauma Care Foundation
The aim of the Primary trauma Care Foundation (PTCF) is to train health professionals in the developing world, where traffic accidents alone account for 1.4 million deaths every year. As well as teaching life-saving skills, the charity also trains local health professionals in effective teaching so that they can pass on their skills. Control and responsibility is devolved from the outset to produce a local, self-sustaining programme.
Since the formation of PTCF in 1996, the charity has introduced Primary Trauma Care into 59 countries in the developing world, and has trained many thousands of doctors and other health workers.
